The internet and smartphones have revolutionized the consumer market. In recent years, the pandemic has accelerated the process of educating consumers. Nowadays, it's hard for a customer to go into a store without knowing what they're looking for, the brand they prefer and an estimate of the product's cost.

E-commerce continues to grow

According to the Brazilian E-Commerce Association (ABComm), online shopping will double between 2019 and 2023. This significant growth was mainly driven by the increase in purchases via mobile devices, which now account for more than 50% of online sales.

In addition, ABComm reported that the e-commerce sector has already exceeded 10% of total retail sales. In some segments, this percentage is even higher, surpassing 50% - and the expectation for 2024 is high.

As a result, companies that fail to establish a digital presence and stand out from the competition by offering attractive prices, easy payment and delivery will find it difficult to meet this growing demand.
